Leader says PTI founder has given nod for nationwide protest
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Javed said on Thursday that the country cannot progress without a proper justice system.Talking to reporters after in the Peshawar High Court, he said that despite court permissions, he had not been allowed to meet the PTI founder for the past one and a half years.
He said that the PTI founder had instructed for the next nationwide protest, emphasizing that the entire nation must now come out and stand firm in this difficult time. “In this sizzling summer, we must only think of the PTI founder,” he said.Faisal reiterated that the PTI had always promoted peaceful protests, and recalled how during times of national crisis like during the Indian aggression, the PTI leaders and workers stood united for the country.
He also criticized the revival of military courts, saying that senior leadership was currently consulting on the matter. He called Imran Khan a national leader and demanded his immediate release. He added that during the recent Pakistan-India tensions, it was PTI workers who were active on social media, and that India had even blocked Imran Khan’s X (formerly Twitter) account.
Faisal said that negotiations and protests should go hand-in-hand, and that peaceful protest was their constitutional and legal right.Earlier, the Peshawar High Court granted a one-month protective bail to Faisal Javed, instructing the concerned authorities to refrain from arresting him during this period.
