Abducted woman, three children rescued
LAHORE : Lahore police rescued a woman and her three children who had been abducted from the Defence-A area, while arresting one suspect involved in the crime.
The incident occurred when the victim woman was forcibly taken by armed men in a vehicle. According to the FIR registered by the victim's brother Amin, the abduction was orchestrated by victim's former brother-in-law Fayaz along with accomplices Ayub and another unidentified individual, allegedly motivated by a family dispute following victim Mehwish's divorce six months prior.
As the incident was highlighted on media, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran constituted a special investigation team led by SP Cantt Division Qazi Ali Raza. Through technical surveillance and CCTV analysis, police traced the suspects to Lodhran where they apprehended prime suspect Ayub. Authorities recovered the white Mehran car (registration LEB-6613) used in the kidnapping and safely freed the victim and her children.
DIG Kamran commended the police team's performance, stating that protection of women and children remains their top priority, while warning that those attempting vigilante justice would face strict legal consequences. Police continue raids to arrest remaining suspects, including the alleged mastermind Fayaz, as the investigation progresses.
