Pak baseball team to feature in West Asia Cup
KARACHI: Pakistan’s baseball team is participating in the 16™ edition of West Asia Baseball Cup from May 13-22 in Karaj, Iran.
The players of the team include Syed Muhib Shah, M Haris, Atif Ahmad, Umair Imdad Bhatti, Aashir Abbas, Abid Ullah, Wahid, Numaan Zulfiqar, M Umar Farooq, M Tariq, M Hussain, M Rehan, Ishtiaq Khan, M Zohaib, M Amjad Aslam, M Zain, Asad Ali, Shahzad Ahmad, Faqir Hussain, M Hussain, Wasim Akram, M Younas, Ali Raza, and Hussain Imam Shah.
The officials that would accompany the team include M Hamood Lakhvi (Team Leader), Ihtisham ul Haq (Manager), M Zubair Wattoo (Umpire), Perwaiz Ahmed (Physio), and Ali Tahir Saraf (Coach).
The teams of Iran, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Palestine will compete in this event in two groups (round-robin format). The Group A teams are Palestine, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and India while the Group B teams are Pakistan, Iran, and Bangladesh. Pakistan will play its first match against Bangladesh on May 16 and then face Iran on May 17. After that it will play placement matches.
