ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has temporarily suspended imports and exports of precious metals, jewelery, and gemstones for 60 days to curb the misuse of these precious items.
The government is devising some changes in the gold and jewelry sector.
“It is aimed to curb smuggling and misuse of different schemes related to precious metals,” top official sources confirmed while talking to The News here on Wednesday.
The suspension means that the rules and procedures previously in place for importing and exporting gold, jewelry, and gemstones are not currently being enforced for 60 days period.
