YDA continues services boycott
LAHORE:The Young Doctors Association (YDA), Punjab, on Wednesday, continued boycotting services in outdoor, indoor and operation theatres in public sector hospitals against privatisation of government hospitals in the province.
The patients have been suffering due to lack of treatment services in public sector hospitals, as more than 400,000 patients were affected since the OPD strike began 10 days ago. The patients have been forced to go to private hospitals, which put unbearable financial burden on average households. The health authorities have suspended several doctors, nurses and paramedics, dismissed some health professionals and terminated PG training of certain medics. On the other hand, the court has granted bail to four doctors till May 10.
