Dangerous vines
Electricity cables, internet wires and telephone lines have become a common sight across Karachi, hanging loosely over streets and footpaths. These wires not only spoil the city’s aesthetic appeal but are also dangerous, especially in the rainy season. Many times, motorcyclists and pedestrians get stuck in these wires and have accidents. Areas like Saddar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, North Nazimabad are full of such messy wires and old and unused cables.
This problem should be taken seriously as the risk of accidents is increasing daily. I request all the concerned authorities, especially utilities and cable companies, to fix this problem by removing the old wires and making sure the new ones are installed properly. The residents of Karachi deserve a clean, safe, and organized city environment.
