DIR: A protest was held iin Upper Dir against India’s violations of the Indus Waters Treaty and threats of attack.
Sheikh Arifullah, general secretary of Pakistan Markazi Muslim League Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Abdul Ghaffar Mansoor, general secretary of Malakand Division, addressed the gathering in Barawal , stating that the people of Pakistan were united against the enemy.
They expressed solidarity with the Pakistan Army, stating that if India attempted any aggression, the people would stand by the army and respond strongly. They emphasised that Pakistanis would not be intimidated by India’s threats.
Meanwhile, former Senator Talha Mahmood in his video message said that India always tried to shift the blame to Pakistan to hide its own internal failures.
He said the Pahalgam incident was unfortunate and condemnable, but India has always blamed Pakistan to cover up its own internal issues. He said that India cannot unilaterally suspend or cancel the Indus Waters Treaty.
He assured that Pakistan would take all necessary measures to protect its people and would not let India violate the treaty.
He warned India not to think of waging war against Pakistan, as it would not benefit India and would have severe consequences for the entire region. “Pakistan’s military and people are well-prepared to face any challenge from India,” he added.
