No land for farms

It seems highly improbable that the Sindh government would readily change its stand on the canals project. However, the planners of the project argue that the canals could raise agricultural output in Cholistan and generate new economic opportunities. One hopes for a win-win situation in which both sides can gain something.

This whole dispute also highlights the importance of agricultural land and the disappearance of such land throughout the country under the onslaught of housing projects. What has the government done to stop this?
