SBBWU hosts financial literacy event
PESHAWAR: Students learned how to effectively manage finances and develop financial discipline at a financial literacy event arranged by Mobilink Microfinance Bank recently at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) here.
A communication on Monday said, the bank set up a stall as part of the State Bank’s National Financial Literacy Programme.
The activity was conducted in accordance with the State Bank of Pakistan’s vision, said the BISP press release.
An interactive session was held as well at the Women Development Centre in the SBBU Peshawar. It covered essential topics such as financial management, budgeting, saving, investment, and financial inclusion.
An on-spot account opening drive was also carried out, encouraging students to open bank accounts and take their first step towards financial independence. The event saw interest and enthusiasm from the students, making it both engaging and impactful.
The press release said the initiative reflected Mobilink Microfinance Bank’s commitment to promoting financial inclusion and empowering young women with essential financial skills.Ms Sobia Kiramat, Deputy Director of Training, said efforts were being made to create opportunities for students through various collaborations to train students to compete in the practical fields. “We intend to hold training for startups and entrepreneur students of the university and their placement in the job market,” she explained.
