Islamabad:The Sustainable Climate and Women Empowerment Initiative (SCWEI) in partnership with Al-Ilm Model School and Academy successfully conducted a comprehensive climate awareness session for educating both students and teachers on the pressing issues of climate change and environmental sustainability, says a press release.
The session was inaugurated by Jalil Khan, SCWEI's Climate Change Consultant, who emphasized the urgent need to integrate climate change education into formal school curricula. He underscored the importance of equipping the younger generation with the knowledge and tools necessary to confront environmental challenges. Khan also elaborated on the scientific significance of the four layers of atmosphere, deepening students' understanding of earth's protective systems.
Following the opening address, SCWEI Executive Director Asfandyar Khan and General Secretary Ms. Sidra Zaka delivered impactful presentations focused on practical strategies for climate change mitigation.
Sidra Zaka said, "Addressing climate change effectively requires active participation of every individual. Only through collective efforts can we ensure a safe and sustainable future." To acknowledge the school's support and collaboration, Farhat Jabeen Khattak presented a certificate of appreciation to the school principal.
