Taj Haider laid to rest

The funeral prayers for senior Pakistan Peoples Party leader Senator Taj Haider, who had passed away on Tuesday night, were offered at Masjid Yasrab in the Defence Housing Authority’s Phase IV on Wednesday afternoon.

The funeral prayers were attended by Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, former caretaker CM Justice (retired) Maqbool Baqar, Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain, Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Shah Muhammad Shah, Jamaat-e-Islami leader Munim Zafar Khan, former Senate chairman Mian Raza Rabbani, Karachi Commissioner Hassan Naqvi, and other prominent politicians and eminent people belonging to different walks of life. Senator Haider was later laid to rest on the premises of Abdullah Shah Ghazi's shrine in Clifton.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari announced a three-day mourning to condole the death of the senior party leader. In a message, the CM praised the lifelong services and efforts of the deceased PPP leader for electoral transparency and social justice in Pakistan. He said the late Senator Haider's services as an intelligent politician, writer, and intellectual would always be remembered. He said the late PPP leader always strived for the rights of the people and upholding the constitution in the country.
