5-member bike thief gang arrested

New Anarkali Police arrested a five-member gang involved in a large-scale motorcycle theft racket, recovering nearly 150 stolen bike parts and dismantling their illegal operation.

DSP Hafiz Ubaidullah, during a press conference at City Headquarters Lohari Gate, revealed that the suspects - identified as Almas, Shehroz, Allah Yar, Dalawar, and Asif - were apprehended following an extensive police operation. The gang, which included brothers-in-law among its members, had stolen dozens of motorcycles in recent weeks. Investigations uncovered that the suspects would dismantle stolen motorcycles at a warehouse and sell the parts through Asif, who would then press the components into scrap blocks to evade police detection.

The gang allegedly sold stolen bikes worth hundreds of thousands for a mere Rs10,000–12,000 in the black market. Police seized motorcycle parts, cutting tools, locks, and the gang’s loader rickshaw used for transporting stolen goods.
