Iftar dinner hosted to support charity outfit

ABBOTTABAD: A charity Iftar dinner was hosted at a hotel here to support civil society organization Idara Tadrees-ul-Qur’an Orphanage that has been providing education and shelter to orphaned children since 1940.

The event brought together about 300 prominent community figures, including SSP Traffic Warden Tariq Khan ; former MPA Sardar Shamoon Yar Khan, former Director General of Sports Tariq Mehmood, Hospital Director Ayub Teaching Hospital Dr Daud Iqbal, Managing Partner of Women Medical College Dr Adnan Bashir, Chairman of Galyat Tahafuz Movement Sardar Muhammad Sabir, Dean COMSATS Syed Mahroof Shah, philanthropists, educationists, social workers, and businessmen.

The gathering underscored the vital role of community support in sustaining institutions that nurtured vulnerable children.Malik Sajid Awan, chairman, and Syed Kosar Naqvi, Vice Chairman, of the orphanage emphasized the ongoing need for donations to ensure the children’s education, housing, food, and clothing.

They expressed gratitude to Malik Naveed Awan and Gul Hameed Khan Jadoon whose generosity covered the iftar dinner’s expenses. Idara Tadrees ul -Qur’an Orphanage Abbottabad, the city’s oldest teaching institution for orphans, has set a remarkable example in child welfare.

Speaking at the event, the organizers highlighted the institution’s transparent system, where every child received quality education, shelter and care. Attendees, including long-time supporters, reaffirmed their commitment to the cause, urging others to contribute generously.

Each year, the orphanage nurtures 50 to 100 children equipping them with the tools for a brighter future. Some of the participants donated funds in charity and enrolled themselves for their regular donations.
