Nine PTI workers granted bail in Nov 26 case
All of these accused were not arrested at spot
ISLAMABAD: The court of Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shahzad Gondal granted post-arrest bail to nine PTI workers arrested in a case registered due to the November 26 protest.
During the hearing on the post-arrest bail applications, petitioner’s lawyer Sardar Shushet Khan appeared in the court and while giving arguments, said that the bail of other accused in the same case has been granted by the High Court.
Besides, under Article 201 of the Constitution, the court is bound to grant bail. All of these accused were not arrested at the spot. Furthermore, the police are no longer required to investigate these accused. After the arguments of the parties were completed, the court reserved its decision on the post-arrest bail applications and later ordered to grant bail to the accused against bonds worth Rs20,000.
The case was registered against the accused in Ramna Police Station under Section 144 and other provisions.
