Pak-BD match abandoned due to rain
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan concluded the Champions Trophy 2025 campaign without achieving a win as their last match against Bangladesh here at the Pindi Stadium was abandoned Thursday without a ball being bowled.
Persistent rain for 12 hours forced the cancellation during the afternoon as the rain left the Pindi Stadium soggy. For a brief period, the rain stopped. The moment the grounds-men started drying up, rain again started pouring in forcing the abandonment of the match -- the second successive in two days.
Earlier, the match between South Africa and Australia was also called off without any action. Pakistan finished at the bottom of the Group A with one point and lesser run rate than that of Bangladesh which also ended the Trophy commitments with one point.
