Kite-flyer snatched from police

LAHORE:A kite-flyer escaped police custody on Wednesday. Reportedly, ASI Allah Ditta of Factory Area police arrested kite flyer Ali and recovered a kite and string from his possession. His friend Tanveer Hussain manhandled the ASI and got Ali freed from the police custody.

Man commits suicide

A 29-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope in the limits of Gujjarpura police on Wednesday. The victim was identified as Junaid, a resident of Tandoor Wala Chowk, Gujjarpura. Reason behind the suicide was yet to be ascertained. Upon receiving information, the police shifted the body to the morgue via Edhi ambulance. Meanwhile, a 19-year old girl committed suicide by taking poisonous substance in the limits of Nishtar Colony police on Wednesday. The victim was identified as 'S', a resident of Sofiababad, Nishtar Colony. Police said that the reason behind the suicide was yet to be ascertained. Body was shifted to the morgue by Edhi ambulance.

Fire erupts in house

A fire broke out in a house near Liaqat Chowk, B-Block, Sabzazar prompting an immediate response from Rescue 1122. According to Rescue 1122 officials, emergency teams and firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire after a coordinated effort, officials confirmed in an update. No casualties were reported so far.

Two escapees arrested

Two accused who managed to escape from Bakshi Khana of the Sessions Court were apprehended in Bahawalnagar on Wednesday. Escapees Hamza and Sherzaman were detained through joint operation by the IT and Chung police and they were involved in separate murder cases.
