ASI martyred, cop injured in Peshawar attacks
A police official says cop was in his village after performing duty when attacked by armed men
PESHAWAR: A police official was martyred in Daudzai while another cop was shot and wounded in the limits of University Town Police Station in the provincial capital on Thursday.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Safiullah of the Special Branch was shot in his village Naguman, Daudzai, when he came out of the mosque after offering prayers. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to injuries.
A police official said the cop was in his village after performing duty when attacked by armed men.
In another incident, a police constable, Sikandar, was shot and wounded in the limits of the University Town Police Station. The cop, who was on leave, was rushed to hospital where he was receiving treatment.
Police officials said search operations were being conducted in the areas after the two attacks in the provincial capital.
