Australians arrive for ICC Champions Trophy
LAHORE: The Australian cricket team has arrived in Pakistan in two batches for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The second group of players landed in Lahore on Monday, completing the team’s arrival in the host country Pakistan.
The 17-member contingent, including 15 players, arrived in Lahore via Dubai from Colombo, Sri Lanka, where they had been participating in the series against home team. Among the notable Australian players who arrived in the second batch included Marnus Labuschagne, Glenn Maxwell, Travis Head, Matthew Short and Adam Zampa.
The first group of players had already arrived in Pakistan late Sunday night, and the entire team is now complete and focused on preparing for the tournament. Australia will play their first match of the ICC Champions Trophy against their traditional rivals England on February 22 at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
This highly anticipated clash is expected to be a thrilling encounter between two of the world’s top cricket teams. Australia’s second group stage match will be against South Africa on February 25 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
They will then return to Lahore to face Afghanistan in their final group stage match on February 28th at the Gaddafi Stadium. The arrival of the Australian team has been met with enthusiasm by Pakistani cricket fans, who are excited to see their favorite international players in action.
The Australian team is considered one of the strongest contenders for the tournament, and their presence is sure to add to the excitement and prestige of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
