Shadab urges all-out support for CT team
LAHORE: Former Pakistan captain Shadab Khan has urged the nation to rally behind the national team for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
The Islamabad United skipper, speaking to media Sunday, highlighted that the selected players have earned their spots through hard work. “This is the squad that has been selected, and as a nation, we must back them,” Khan stated, addressing speculation about his non-selection.
Khan revealed he is focusing on improving his game, particularly his bowling, while prioritising longer format cricket. “I am working tirelessly on all aspects of my game. This season, I have prioritized longer formats, and I believe that if I keep putting in the hard work and trusting the process, things will only get better.”
The all-rounder highlighted the historical significance of the tournament, Pakistan’s first major ICC event since 1996, as an opportunity to showcase the nation’s cricket passion. “Let’s become the 12th man, back our boys, and give them the support they need.
Trust me, as players, when we feel the love and support from the fans, it lifts our game,” Khan emphasised. Khan expressed hope for Pakistan’s success in the tournament, particularly looking forward to a potential victory celebration at the newly renovated Lahore stadium.
