Azam Swati granted protective bail
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday granted protective bail to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Swati until March 13 and sought a report from the federal government and relevant institutions regarding the cases registered against him.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Sahibzada Asadullah and Justice Salahuddin heard the petition.Azam Swati’s lawyer Ali Azeem Afridi told the court that the petitioner was a PTI leader and a Senate candidate from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.He pleaded that multiple cases had been registered against his client in various police stations, but he was unaware of their details.
He prayed the court that the details of these cases be provided so that the petitioner could appear before the relevant courts. The court granted protective bail to Azam Swati and issued a brief written order and asked the federal government and otherparties to submit a report on the cases registered against him.The hearing was adjourned until March 13.
