A man was gunned down on Wednesday on University Road near the Samama flyover within the limits of the Mobina Town police station.
Following the incident, police and rescue workers reached the scene and transported the casualty to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital from where the body was shifted to a morgue. The deceased man could not be identified. According to police, no item was found on the deceased that could help establish his identity.
However, the victim’s motorcycle, which was relatively new, had a sticker indicating that it was purchased recently and had yet to be registered. Police said efforts were under way to identify the victim.
Road accident
A taxi lost control and crashed into a pole, resulting in the driver's death near Shafiq Morr on Rashid Minhas Road on Wednesday. Police identified the deceased driver as Ramzan, son of Hayat. The victim was a resident of Sohrab Goth and hailed from District Khushab. His body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The police suspected that the driver might have suffered a heart attack while driving, which led to the fatal accident.
