Medical varsities start cancelling admissions of candidates with dual domicile
Medical universities in Sindh have started cancelling admissions of candidates who have a dual domicile. Liaquat Medical University, Jamshoro, has cancelled the admissions of five candidates, while the Dow Medical University has stopped admissions of 20 candidates.
On Monday, candidates with dual domiciles were called and the committee interviewed them, and after checking their papers, their admissions were cancelled. Dow Medical University sources told The News that the university will maintain merit in all cases and will not give admission to any candidate with a dual domicile.
Other sources said that most of the dual domiciles have been made from Karachi East, while the matriculation and intermediate of these candidates were also from outside Karachi. In Sindh, the domicile record is not available online, nor is Sindh's domicile linked to the Nadra system, while in Punjab, the domicile can be checked online and by entering the candidate's identity card number, the details of his domicile are displayed.
