Lahore gears up for Int’l hockey
LAHORE: As Pakistan prepares to host the ICC Champions Trophy, the country is also gearing up for a parallel international hockey extravaganza. Renowned hockey clubs from Germany and the Netherlands are set to arrive in Lahore on February 11.
Under the directives of Prime Minister, the Youth Programme team has been actively involved in organizing trials to select a talented pool of Pakistani players to compete against these international teams.
These trials were held at the Johar Town Hockey Stadium and witnessed the participation of over 250 young players from all four provinces, as well as Islamabad and Gilgit. The trials were personally overseen by Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, the focal person for sports under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program.
