ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Monday said Nadra intends to protect the National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq in its report. He said a lot was yet to come to the surface.
He said the PTI had provided Rs2.6 million to Nadra for verification of votes. He deplored that the Nadra chief had gone abroad instead of showing up before the election tribunal in the NA-122 case. The election tribunal should conduct the hearing on a daily basis, Imran Khan demanded.
The PTI chief alleged that Najam Sethi had received direct instructions from Raiwind when he was the caretaker CM, Punjab, during the general elections 2013.He underlined that a niece of Najam Sethi was given a ticket by the PML-N to contest elections on a reserved seat for women.
He said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was not fully prepared to hold the local bodies elections. “The ECP should have done its homework on the LB polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said.
“One voter had to cast his vote for seven candidates and all this process needed a lot more time and management,” Imran told media persons outside the Supreme Court. He asked how one could manage such a massive exercise in just one day. Imran said he would appear before the Judicial Commission in the rigging case.
To a question, Khan said the Khyber Pakhuntkhwa government doesn’t interfere in police matters. The police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is different from that of Sindh and Punjab, he said.“The police had shot 100 people in the Punjab and yet Rana Sanaullah was made a minister,” he said.
