Canada reaffirms commitment to development

Islamabad:As International Development Week (IDW) began, Canada’s High Commissioner to Pakistan Leslie Scanlon highlighted her country's commitment to international assistance and global development.

IDW is an annual event in Canada that showcases the efforts of individuals and organisations in fulfilling their responsibilities as global citizens.

Marking the 35th anniversary of IDW, this year’s theme is ‘Building a Better World Together,’ emphasising Canada's longstanding commitment to international assistance and underscoring how Canadian efforts, alongside experienced organisations and local communities, are creating a more equitable, stable and sustainable world, according to Ms Scanlon.

In a video message, she said Canada was proud to support initiatives that improved the lives of people in Pakistan. The Canadian higher commissioner said her country remained committed to working together with Pakistan to advance progress and prosperity.
