LAHORE : Following the orders of Ombudsman Punjab, the provincial government has retrieved 34 kanals of state land worth over Rs4.6 millions. Moreover a total of Rs22.5 million has been disbursed to 97 applicants in pending dues.
According to details, the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab received multiple complaints from citizens regarding illegal occupation of government land and non-payment of dues.
Taking swift action, the office issued directives to the authorities concerned, leading to legal proceedings and the recovery of the seized land, which has a total market value of Rs4.6 million.
Additionally, financial relief has been provided under various categories due to the efforts of the Ombudsman Punjab.
On the instruction of Ombudsman, Rs5.3 million was granted to 18 applicants under Death Grant and Marriage Grant, Rs2.788 million was paid to 25 applicants as educational scholarships, Rs2.3 million was given as monthly financial aid to three individuals, Rs9.028 million was paid to 16 applicants in leave encashment, GP fund, and pensionary dues and Rs3.059 million was provided to 35 individuals in pending salaries and arrears.
