Man shot dead on University Road

A case was registered at the Sachal police station on Tuesday following the murder of 35-year-old Farhan Qasim on University Road.

The incident occurred on Monday evening near the Total Petrol Pump, opposite a food outlet. Farhan had parked his Vigo near the petrol pump and was walking toward a shop when assailants on a motorcycle opened fire. The attackers shot two to three times before fleeing the scene.

Farhan, who was associated with the fisheries sector, sustained gunshot wounds. The FIR was registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Faisal Qasim. Faisal stated in the FIR, “My brother and I had gone to buy school uniforms for our children. Suddenly, two unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire on my brother. I rushed him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.”
