44% of Pakistanis support govt-PTI talks: survey
Gallup Pakistan conducts survey of more than 400 people from across country
ISLAMABAD: One out of every three Pakistanis is hopeful about the success of negotiations between the government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, and the majority support the negotiations. It was revealed in a Gallup Pakistan survey.
According to the survey, 44pc of Pakistanis fully support the negotiations between the government and the PTI to resolve political issues, however, 16pc of Pakistanis in the survey opposed it. Over 39pc refused to comment on the negotiations. Gallup Pakistan conducted the survey of more than 400 people from across the country.
On the question that will the negotiations be successful? 45pc expressed doubts and said they could not say anything about it at the time, however, 33pc of Pakistanis seemed hopeful about the success of the negotiations, while 19pc predicted the failure of the negotiations. A detailed analysis of the results of the survey revealed that men were more optimistic than women as 41pc of men and 25pc of women hoped for success in the negotiations. On the contrary, the rate of opposition to negotiations was seen as 21pc among men and 16pc among women, while 55pc of the women in the survey expressed doubts about the success of the negotiations, while this rate was 35pc among men.
