MARDAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member Provincial Assembly Iftikhar Ali Mashwani on Friday said that over 400 innocent party workers were currently imprisoned in various jails across Punjab.
Talking to reporters at the Mardan Press Club, he pointed out that it has been two months since many innocent PTI workers have been detained in Punjab’s jails. He said that more than five cases have been filed against him in Punjab alone.
He criticised the federal government, claiming that it was not serious about engaging in negotiations. Mashwani said that the cases against PTI leaders, including its founder Imran Khan, have been filed on the grounds of political differences and bad intentions.
The MPA said that PTI workers remain undeterred by these legal cases and that the party founder would never seek an NRO. Earlier, the MPA congratulated the newly-elected members of the Mardan Press Club.
