McGrath leads Norwegian sweep of Wengen World Cup slalom

WENGEN, Switzerland: Atle Lie McGrath led a Norwegian podium sweep of the men´s World Cup slalom in Wengen on Sunday ahead of Timon Haugan and Henrik Kristoffersen.
US-born McGrath, 24, had dominated the first run and sealed his third World Cup win and first in three years with a combined time of 1min 45.94sec. Haugan was second at 0.18sec with Kristoffersen third at 0.29sec.
McGrath had led Kristoffersen by 0.43sec in the first run in the Swiss resort. Loic Meillard lead the way in the second run with McGrath 1.29sec behind the Swiss racer but it was enough to seal his fifth podium finish of the season, and fourth in the slalom.
