Double crown for Abu Bakar in National Junior Tennis
LAHORE: Abu Bakar Talha clinched the singles title as well as doubles title of the under-18 category of the Millat Tractors National Junior Tennis Championship 2025 at the Punjab Tennis Academy Bagh-e-Jinnah on Friday.
Abu Bakar Talha first one singles title of Boys U-18 category defeating Mohammad Salaar in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 and later on partnered with Amir Mazari to claim the doubles crown with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 victory over M. Salaar and Asad Zaman.
The younger categories saw several notable performances. In Girls U-14, Khadija Khalil showcased her talent with a flawless 4-0, 4-0 win against Shahnoor Umer. The Boys U-14 final provided more drama as Abdur Rehman overcame a slow start to defeat M. Junaid 1-4, 4-1, 4-0.
The U-12 category featured exciting matches with Muhammad Ayan winning the boys’ singles title against Muhammad Muaz 4-2, 4-2 while Aiman Rehan emerged victorious in a thrilling girls’ final against Khadija Khalil, winning 4-5, 4-2, 5-4. In the youngest age groups, Ashtar Alam Khan dominated the U-10 final with a 6-0 victory over Mustafa Zia.
The U-8 category saw M. Mamnoon Bari claim gold, with Shahreen Umer and Ibrahim Faizan taking silver and bronze respectively. In U-6, Wali Abdullah secured the gold medal, followed by M. Zayyan Amir and M. Azlan Amir.

Other results: Girls U-14: Khadija Khalil beat Shahnoor Umer 4-0, 4-0.
Boys U-14: Singles: Abdur Rehman beat M. Junaid 1-4, 4-1, 4-0.
Doubles: Muhammad Junaid Khan/Rayan Khan Khalil beat Ohad e Mustafa/M. Ayan Khan 5-4, 4-1.
Boys/Girls U-12: Boys Singles: Muhammad Ayan beat Muhammad Muaz 4-2, 4-2.
The guests of honour at the closing ceremony of the tournament were Imran Ayub, Senior Manager Admin Millat Tractors and former Davis Cupper Rashid Malik.
