Police arrest 51 gangs, booty worth Rs 40m recovered

MULTAN: Gulgasht Division police arrested 131 members of 51 gangs wanted in various cases of robbery, extortion, burglary, and motorcycle theft.

The police also recovered stolen valuables worth more than Rs 40 million. While taking action against drug dealers, the police recovered 39kg hashish, 7kg heroin and 3,534 litres alcohol.The weapons used in the incidents, 71 pistols of 30 bore along with 235 live bullets, were also recovered from the accused, 533 cases were traced.

Kotwali police arrested 19 members of 5 gangs wanted in other incidents including dacoity, robbery, motorcycle theft and recovered stolen property worth more than 14 lakh 78 thousand rupees, including 03 motorcycles and cash while 234 liters of alcohol, 04 kilograms of hashish and 02 pistols 30 bore were also recovered.

Sadar police arrested 26 members of 08 gangs wanted in dacoity, robbery, motorcycle theft and other incidents and recovered stolen property worth 4 million rupees, including 20 motorcycles and cash.

BZ police arrested nine members of four gangs wanted in dacoity, robbery, motorcycle theft and other incidents and recovered stolen property worth more than Rs 10 lakh including 04 motorcycles, mobile phones and cash. Weapons used in the incidents, 16 pistols, 30 bore and 01 rifle, were also recovered from the accused. While 142 liters of liquor and 1250 grams of hashish were recovered during other operations against drug peddlers

Budlah Sunt police arrested 11 members of six gangs wanted in dacoity, robbery, motorcycle and vehicle theft and other incidents and recovered stolen property worth more than Rs 5.4 million including 08 motorcycles, 01 tractor trolley, livestock, 03 mobile phones and cash. During the operations against drug peddlers, 120 litres liquor and 1,100 grams heroin were recovered.
