Rassie van der Dussen signs up for PSL 10 player draft
LAHORE: South Africa’s prolific top-order batter Rassie van der Dussen has registered for the highly-anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 player draft, the league announced on Monday.
The announcement was made via the PSL’s social media platforms, accompanied by a video compilation showcasing van der Dussen's impressive batting highlights. “South African Right Hand Batter Rassie van der Dussen makes his way back to the HBL PSL Draft,” the PSL captioned the post.
The 35-year-old batter has represented the Proteas in 18 Tests (1,263 runs), 68 ODIs (3,190) and 50 T20Is (1,173). Accumulating 4,626 international runs, van der Dussen has registered six centuries and 29 half-centuries across formats.
In T20 cricket, van der Dussen boasts a stellar record with 211 matches, scoring 6,075 runs at a strike rate of 131.86, including five centuries and 39 half-centuries. Van der Dussen has previously featured in the PSL, representing Islamabad United in 2023 and Lahore Qalandars in 2024. His contributions have been significant:
In 13 matches, he has scored 512 with an average of 46.54 and strike rate of 145.86. He also hit a century and three fifties. Van der Dussen becomes the 20th foreign player to register for the PSL 10 draft and the third South African alongside Rilee Rossouw and Corbin Bosch.
