Bar chief vows to back free journalism
NOWSHERA: Nowshera District Bar Association President Fida Muhammad Afridi has pledged all backing for the freedom of journalism.
“Nowshera Bar Association and Nowshera Press Club will continue to serve the people of the district,” he said while speaking at a reception arranged by the Nowshera Press Club. Usman Khan, Naeem Khan, Riaz Khan, and other lawyers were present on the occasion.
The newly elected office-bearers of the Nowshera Press Club, including President Mushtaq Paracha, Vice-President Qaseem Shah, General Secretary Muhammad Shahid, Joint Secretary Nasir Khan, Finance Secretary Zahoor Ahmed, and governing body members Noor Khaliq Khattak, Wajid Ali, Syed Tarjameer Shah, and Syed Waliullah Shah, as well as other club members Khalid Nazir, Kamran Khattak, Shahenshah, Fida Muhammad, and Bakht Besyar, were there as well.
Fida emphasized the importance of unity and harmony among journalists while warning against elements engaging in yellow journalism, which tarnished the reputation of the entire journalist community. He reiterated the bond between the Nowshera Bar and the Nowshera Press Club, describing them as complementary institutions that served as the eyes, ears, and voice of the public.The bar chief announced the provision of a water dispenser for the club. The NPC chief praised Fida Muhammad Afridi for his services to the legal fraternity of Nowshera.
