Gangsters torture cop in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Gangsters riding a Land Cruiser on Sunday captured a police constable in the evening. The cop was deployed at the Kashmir picket when he intercepted the vehicle for checking and asked for identity of the riders.The riders were said to be sons of bureaucrats and top merchants of the federal capital, the sources claimed.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan took immediate notice of the incident. He urged upon the police authorities to arrest the captors within 24 hours and submit a detailed report, the Interior Ministry sources said.
The police sources said Constable Muneer Hussain was performing his duty at the Kashmir picket when he intercepted the Land Cruiser bearing registration number LWK-8888 and asked for the identity of the riders but they humiliated the cop, used filthy language, pulled him in the vehicle and fled away.
They later threw the cop out of the vehicle near Sector G-7 of the federal capital after torturing him badly. The police have registered a case and obtained record of motor vehicle registration department from Lahore and sent teams to arrest them.
