PPP MPA demands end to violence
LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party-Parliamentarians (PPP-P) MPA Mumtaz Chahang Monday slammed 'violence against political workers'.
Speaking on the floor of the Punjab Assembly, Chahang said he endorsed the stance of the PTI in terms of violence on its workers. He also said resources of a province should not be used against the state. He said leaders like former prime ministers Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed were eliminated but their party activists never attacked the state institutions. He said President Asif Ali Zardari was tortured in jail. Chahang asked the Opposition to tell about the treatment being meted out to its leader in Adiala jail. MPA Raja Shaukat Aziz Bhatti during general discussion on law and order said the PTI attacked GHQ and disrespected the statues of martyrs.
