Religious scholars meet governor
LAHORE:A delegation led by Pakistan Sunni Tehreek President Hafiz Sarwat Ijaz Qadri met with Governor Sardar Saleem Haider at Governor's House here Wednesday. Governor said that the nation values the sacrifices of security personnel in the war against terrorism. ‘Our martyrs laid down their lives for the homeland and the nation is indebted to them for their sacrifices. Terrorism is a threat to peace and security of country. We have to create unity in our ranks to end terrorism and extremism,’ the governor said. He said that a workable solution should be found by consulting the scholars of all schools of thought on seminary registration law. He said that he would convey the proposals on the law for the registration of seminaries of scholars to the President Asif Zardari. Hafiz Sarwat expressed hope that the governor would play the role of a bridge between the govt and the Ulema on the seminari registration law.
