As the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy approaches, Pakistan is slated to host the tournament. However, the BCCI has once again refused to send its team to Pakistan. The ICC revenue-sharing model reveals the BCCI’s significant clout. Given India’s massive cricketing market, the BCCI’s share reflects its financial contribution to the sport.
To address the venue conflict, the PCB has conditionally agreed to adopt a hybrid model for the 2025 Champions Trophy. The PCB’s stance highlights the broader question of equitable participation in ICC events and the need to find sustainable solutions to ensure the spirit of cricket remains unaffected by geopolitical tensions.
