ASI martyred in Takht Bhai

TAKHT BHAI: Unidentified armed men martyred an assistant sub-inspector of the police in the limits of Saro Shah Police Station here on Tuesday.

Sources said that ASI Wali Muhammad Khan, in-charge of Garu Shah checkpost, was martyred by unidentified assailants.

It was learnt that Wali Muhammad and his team had signaled a suspected motorcycle to stop on Mehtar Road but the suspects opened fire on the police team, injuring the ASI.He was transported to the Mardan Medical Complex (MMC), where he succumbed to his injuries.

Following the incident, DSP Takht Bhai Circle Shakeel Khan and SHO Iqbal Hussain Khan arrived at the scene with a contingent of the additional police and cordoned off the area to conduct a search operation.
