PM’s stance on Kashmir, Palestine lauded
LAHORE : Pakistan Ulema Council chairman Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi Saturday said Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had rightfully represented the stance of Islamic world on the situation of Kashmir and Palestine in the United Nations’ General Assembly.
Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club along with Ulema-Mashaykh, Ashrafi lauded the PM stance and said the PM had raised voice for the cause of Kashmiris and Palestinians against the oppression of Israel and India. He said Pakistan supports the statement of Saudi Foreign Minister Amir Faisal bin Farhan regarding making Al-Quds World Alliance on the Palestine issue.
Ashrafi said every Muslim and peace loving country should stand against brutality of Israel. He said the PM had called for a two-state solution for Palestine that is also unanimous decision of the OIC. He said Pakistan stands united for the cause and struggle of an Independent and autonomous Palestinian state.
Qari Mubashar Raheemi, Maulana Aslam Siddiqui, Maulana Ibrahim Hanfi, Maulana Haq Nawaz, Mufti Fakaksher, Qari Waqas Iqbal and others also attended the press conference. On the occasion, he announced said Pakistan Ulema Council will organise a world conference in Islamabad on prevailing situation in Kashmir and Palestine. Ashrafi said the proposed constitutional court will ultimately relieve the burden from the apex court and innocent prisoners jailed in prisons will get a chance to seek justice. He said the detailed verdict in Mubarak Sani case had not been announced yet and the Chief Justice should announce this verdict on priority. He said propaganda is being made in the cases of blasphemy.
He said leading religious scholars had termed burning of dead body and killing as illegal. He demanded thorough investigation of Dr Shah Nawaz as how he was arrested and murdered in police custody.
