Traffic diversion plan announced for 12th Rabiul Awwal processions
The Karachi Traffic Police have made traffic arrangements for all the processions to be taken out in the city on 12 Rabiul Awwal (today) and the Karachi Traffic superintendents of police have been directed to personally monitor the processions taking place in their districts.
Officials said on Monday that, along with this, the route details and diversions on MA Jinnah Road, the main procession route of 12th Rabiul Awwal, are as follows. The route of the procession of Dawat-e-Islami is: Shaheed Masjid Kharadar, Plastic Market, Denso Hall, Light House, Jamia Cloth, Saeed Manzil, Frere Chowk, Left Turn, Nasira School to Masjid Gulzar Habib.
The route of the procession to be led by Maulana Akbar is: Memon Masjid Kharadar, MA Jinnah Road, Tibet Centre, Regal Chowk, Sharea Liaquat to Arambagh Mosque. The route of the procession to be led by Jamaat-e-Ahle Sunnat’s Shah Abdul Haq Qadri: Memon Masjid Kharadar, MA Jinnah Road, Capri Light Signal, Naumaish to Nishtar Park.
They added that when the procession departs from Shaheed Masjid and Memon Mosque, traffic will be diverted from Lee Market, Aga Khan Jamaat Khana, Ji Alaana Road, Kharadar and Mai Kolachi and MA Jinnah Road on to alternative routes.
Traffic coming from Keamari via Jinnah Bridge Tower will not be allowed to come towards the procession and will be diverted towards alternative routes. The procession route and its adjoining streets shall be closed for all types of traffic. Traffic shall be diverted from Tower to Naumaish and Nishtar Park through the following alternative routes:
Chand Bibi Chowk, Lee Market, Madina Road Crossing Near PS Soldier Bazar, Jinnah Bridge, ICI Chowk, Sobhraj Chattu Mal Chowk, Uncle Sirya Hospital, Jubilee, Waheed Murad Chowk, Shalimar Chowk, Karachi Grammar School, Lucky Star, Lasbela Light Signal, Banori Mosque Light Signal, Gurumandir Chowk, PP Chowrangi, Society Light Signal, Noorani Kebab and Allah Wali Chowrangi.
The other routes are: Agha Khan Park Towards Soldier Bazaar PS, Taj Complex, Student Biryani, Saddar Dawakhana, Zauq-e-Shirin Cut, Aga Khan III Road, Jubilee Chowk and Brito lite Signal.
Traffic coming from University Road via New MA Jinnah Road, shall come forward from under the Jail Chowrangi Flyover.This traffic will be diverted towards the Jail Chowrangi Flyover or Kashmir Road.
Traffic which will reach People’s Chowrangi from inner streets and University Road, on the left of the People’s Chowrangi, Sharea Quaideen or the Corridor 3 will be diverted to the Saddar. All kinds of traffic coming from Guru Mandir towards MA Jinnah Road shall be diverted from Banori Town Light Signal towards Central Jail.
Traffic coming from Lasbela and Business Recorder Road will not be allowed to come towards MA Jinnah Road and it will be diverted to New MA Jinnah or Jail Road. The roads streets towards Guru Mandir to Mansfield Street will be completely closed to traffic.
To avoid trouble, the public has been asked to take an alternative route so that they can reach their destination without any hurdle. In addition, for any assistance related to traffic, they can contact the traffic police helpline number 1915 where representatives are always there to serve and guide them.
