Fuuast tells serving, retired employees to stop protesting over pay and pension
The acting registrar of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (Fuuast), Samra Zameer, has issued an office order to stop protests by the employees and demonstrations by dismissed employees regarding salaries, pensions and house sealing in the university.
The office order states that on the orders of the vice chancellor, the employees of the Federal Urdu University are directed to perform mandatory duties in their respective departments/offices.
“No such activity is allowed in the university which affects the academic environment. Employees who are absent from their departmental offices during office hours and are found to be involved in any activity other than official duties will be deducted from the salary of the relevant day. Entry of unrelated persons except students, serving and retired employees is strictly prohibited in the university premises. In case of contravention.”
The order further says: “Legal action will be taken. The campus officer should ensure strict implementation of the ban on entry of non-related persons into the university. According to the lower grade non-teaching staff, now the media will also be banned from entering the Urdu University.”
