LAHORE:The Pakistan Railways has confirmed there is no shortage of fuel for its train operations, ensuring that services will continue smoothly across the country.
According to the PR spokesperson on Wednesday, the Railways have sufficient fuel reserves, with a one-month stock available in key depots located in Lahore and Karachi. These depots collectively fulfill 62 per cent of the railway’s fuel needs.
Additionally, ample fuel is reported to be available in other divisions across the country. In a shift from past practices, Pakistan Railways no longer stores large amounts of fuel in advance but maintains sufficient reserves to meet current demands.
Both the financial resources and the required fuel are readily available, with storage tanks consistently kept full. The fuel supply to Pakistan Railways is secured through a formal agreement between Pakistan Railways and the Pakistan State Oil (PSO). Under this agreement, PSO is responsible for ensuring an uninterrupted fuel supply, guaranteeing smooth train operations without any disruptions.
