Women training and coaching camps conclude
CHARSADDA: The 10-day-long women training and coaching camps in different age groups — from 8 to 18 — in six games concluded here at Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex on Monday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Shahbaz Khattak, Additional Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Waqas, Regional Sports Officer for Peshawar Kashif Farhan, President of Peshawar Press Club Arshad Aziz Malik, former president M. Riaz, President Charsadda Press Club Sabaz Ali Khan, President Mohammadzai Union of Journalist Faiz Muhammad, District Sports Officer Charsadda Mishal Malik, players and many spectators were also present at the closing ceremony.
The speakers said despite the growing popularity of women games globally, many barriers still hindered female participation at the grassroots level. They mentioned cultural norms, lack of access to training facilities, and a dearth of female coaches and role models in the sport contribute to women’s underrepresentation.
