ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Tuesday questioned which authority had conducted the PTI’s intra-party polls as it was no more an organization by not conducting the poll exercise.
However, a three-member bench, headed by Member Sindh Nisar Ahmad Durrani, which heard the case, gave the party time to submit documents with reference to the intra-party elections.
Member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said PTI was no longer an organization and the Election Commission wanted to know which authority had conducted the party elections.
Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan sought time from the Election Commission to submit the related documents. He maintained that the police had taken away all the documents from the party’s central secretariat and even the water dispenser was also missing.
Later, the Election Commission adjourned the hearing sine die, giving the PTI time to submit documents. The date of next hearing will be announced later.
