Four houses gutted in Mansehra

MANSEHRA: Four multi-storey houses were gutted as a heavy fire erupted in the Kanshian area of Balakot tehsil here on Wednesday.The fire, which ripped through the house of Sardar Waliur Rehman, engulfed adjacent buildings within no time.

The locals rushed to the scene and shifted inmates to a nearby safe place. The locals brought the fire under control after hectic efforts of several hours.A squad from Rescue 1122 couldn’t reach the scene owing to mountainous terrain.

“Four buildings, mostly built with wooden planks, have been gutted and household goods, cash and gold ornaments reduced to ashes,” Waliur Rehman told reporters.He said that his family was unaware of the reasons, which led to such a huge fire and rapidly engulfing buildings causing financial losses to millions.

This is the second fire incident in the Kanshian area as three houses were gutted earlier this month and the reasons that triggered the fire couldn’t be ascertained as yet. By our correspondent.
