Judicial Commission invites evidence from political parties
Will hold first public hearing on April 16

ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission probing the alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections on Thursday sought evidence and proposals from the political parties which participated in the elections for its consideration.
The three-member Judicial Commission constituted under the chairmanship of the Supreme Court (SC) Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk held its first meeting in the Supreme Court. Other members of the commission are Justice Ameer Hani Muslim and Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan.
The Judicial Commission sought proposals in the form of a brief statement accompanied by supporting evidence or material to be submitted to the secretary to the commission by April 15, 2015.Muhammad Hamid Ali, Secretary to the Supreme Court chief justice, has been appointed as secretary to the commission.
The first public hearing by the commission will be held on April 16, 2015 in Court Room No 1 of the Supreme Court in Islamabad. The commission ruled that any person or a counsel appearing on behalf of a political party shall produce evidence and material after due authorisation from the head of the party.
