Turkmenistan, CUI forge partnerships in science, education
Islamabad: Turkmenistan and Comsats University Islamabad (CUI) are poised to strengthen their collaboration in science and education following a recent visit by Atadjan Movlamov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan. Accompanied by Eldar Permanov, Third Secretary, the envoy met with Prof. Dr. Sajid Qamar, Rector of CUI, in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Ambassador Movlamov expressed Turkmenistan's keen interest in deepening ties with CUI through various collaborative initiatives, emphasising the importance of facilitating exchange visits, virtual conferences, and meetings to foster academic and cultural exchange.
An exciting development emerged as the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management invited CUI students to participate in the Open International Internet Olympiad on World Economy, scheduled for May 16, 2024. This initiative aims to strengthen relationships among students and educators while facilitating the exchange of scholarly insights.
Furthermore, Ambassador Movlamov called for fresh proposals from CUI for scientific and technological cooperation, seeking to build upon the existing Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions. He stressed the need to revitalize this historical agreement to further mutual interests in research and development.
In response, Prof. Dr. Sajid Qamar, Rector of CUI, commended the ambassador's efforts and reaffirmed the university's commitment to collaboration. He pledged CUI's active participation in the Olympiad, submission of proposals for cooperation, dissemination of scholarship information, and the revitalisation of ties with the Turkmen State Institute. The visit signifies a significant step towards deeper engagement between Turkmenistan and CUI, promising mutually beneficial partnerships in the realms of science, education and research.
