LAHORE: The President of Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) Central Punjab Dr Asif Mahmood Khokhar has expressed serious concerns over the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, particularly the alarming rise in incidents of robbery targeting healthcare professionals.

In a statement on Monday, he demanded the government to provide protection to doctors. He said that recently there have been disturbing incidents in Punjab where doctors were targeted.

The recent incident occurred in Kasur where Dr Khalid Qasuri was targeted. These incidents not only endanger the lives of doctors and healthcare workers but also affect the provision of medical services to the public. Dr Asif urged the Punjab govt to take immediate steps to ensure the safety and security of doctors.
