Ashab wins PSA title in USA

ISLAMABAD: Muhammad Ashab Irfan has broken the jinx by winning the $9,000 Rochester Proam Squash Tournament at Houston Squash Club, USA. Ashab beat Gomez Dominguez (Mexico) 12-10, 11-4, 9-11, 11-9.
It was Ashab’s first major title as he became the only second Pakistani player to win a PSA title outside of Pakistan in recent years. Ashab faced a formidable opponent in Ronald Palamino of Columbia in the semi-finals. Despite dropping two sets, Ashab displayed excellent tennis showing determination. He ultimately prevailed over his opponent 3-2. Jahanzeb Khan, owner of Houston Squash Club, said that Ashab is the second Pakistani who has won the PSA title abroad.
